These places were called Mino Country in ancient times. In 1978, it was certified as a "traditional craft" by Japan's Ministry of International Trade and Industry. The main production area of ​​Mino-yaki is the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture. Due to the abundance of local clay, it has been a source of ceramics since ancient times.
